Suspend Treaty Plutonium, Russia Can Make Thousands of Nuclear Weapons

The Russian government on Monday published a suspension coming into effect of the agreement with the United States (US) about the disposal of plutonium from nuclear warheads deactivated. Beginning in 2018, Russia plans to reprocess 34 tons of plutonium, the material can to make thousands of nuclear weapons.

Suspension of post-Cold War treaty that was signed by President Vladimir Putin that some time ago on the grounds the US make foreign policy hostile to Russia. The US and Russia agreement was made in 2000 with the spirit of reducing the world's nuclear weapons.

Information imposition of the suspension of the agreement appeared on the official website of the Russian legal information, yesterday, quoted by the RIA Novosti news agency.

"Russia has suspended the deal, due to a drastic change of circumstances, the emergence of a threat to strategic stability as a result of hostile action the US against the Russian Federation and the inability of the US to provide liability is accepted in order to utilize the excess plutonium-arms in accordance with the agreement," the statement the suspension of the agreement published on the website, quoted last night (10/31/2016).
